The MG Sports Car Movie The Evolution of the MG Sports Car A film celebrating the exciting 100 year history of the world famous MG sports cars, MG stands for Morris Garages. This global automobile brand has produced historical, high quality sports cars for over a century. At the young age of 16, William Richard Morris set up a business repairing bicycles in a shed at the back of his parents house. He then started to work on motorcycles and designed the Morris Motor Motorcycle in 1901. This young English motor manufacturer was repairing bicycles, operated a taxi service, sold, repaired and hired cars by 1902. In 1910 he built a new automobile center, that the local newspaper described as The Oxford Motor Palace. Mr. Morris later changed the name to Morris Garage and the rest is history. In the early 1920's, Mr. Morris teamed up with Cecil Kimber and built the famous "Old Number One" MG sports car. Since then the company has had a long and winding road, but this unique automobile company manufactured over 40 different MG models through 1980. The MG automobile brand is stronger today than ever before, manufacturing 14 new models since 2006, including the cutting edge MG Cyberster Electric Roadster, exactly what the world needs!
